Management jobs in Tampa decline

Bad news for the upper echelon of the workforce: management jobs in Tampa are declining, according to a new index.

Managerial recruitment activity showed a gain of 9.4 points in August, following a downward slide over the past three months, according to the new CareerCast.com/JobSerf Employment Index. The August 2011 Index, which measures managerial hiring activity online, has risen to 107.6, a mere 5.3 points higher than it was a year ago in August 2010.

Humana hires for nursing jobs in Tampa

Humana said this week it will be recruiting for a number of jobs, including nursing jobs in Florida.

Humana Cares division, headquartered in St. Petersburg, Humana today announced the national care center will add 300 employees this fall to handle the expansion of the company’s national chronic care management programs.

Florida jobs are getting a big boost from this division of Humana.

Humana Cares, which opened its doors in February 2009 with about 200 associates, will employ about 1,300 employees by year end. About 250 of the new positions will be located at the 75,000-square-foot national care center in St. Petersburg.

Aldi hires for Tampa Bay retail jobs

Aldi, the discount grocery store chain, said recently that it is recruiting for Tampa Bay retail jobs.

It has already held a job fair this month to fill a number of jobs.

Aldi is looking for job seekers to apply for shift manager positions earning $13.50 per hour and cashier positions (full and part time) at $10.00 per hour. (more…)

Savtira hiring for IT jobs in Tampa

Savtira Corporation, a new provider of business-to-business e-commerce solutions, just announced it will be recruiting for IT jobs in Tampa. Savtira is slated to open the door of opportunity to at least 265 prospective employees in the following 18 months.

The unemployment rate is gradually descending, yet tediously consistent at around 11 percent in Tampa, Fla. Florida jobs have been plagued by high unemployment. However, a shining light in the form of blinking computer servers sheds a positive outlook in Ybor City.

Savtira leaders ultimately selected Tampa as its headquarters after considering several other prominent technology cities such as Atlanta and Austin. Savtira
