American General Recruiting for Sales Jobs in Tampa

A life insurance firm has announced they are looking to fill sales jobs in Tampa.

American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. has started a nationwide hiring drive that is stopping in 15 cities from Sept. 27 to Oct. 6. It will stop at American General Life’s Tampa office from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday to meet with potential full- and part-time insurance salespeople.

The Tampa office is located at 10002 Princess Palm Ave., Suite 106, in the Sabal Park area east of Tampa.

The company encourages entry-level and experienced candidates to attend. Those hired will go through a paid initial training period, but after that, compensation will be based on commission. The company also offers potential bonuses, a full benefits package and tuition assistance for industry-related training, American General Life said in a news release.

Salespeople will sell the company’s Quality of Life…Insurance product. The insurance coverage allows people with terminal, chronic or critical conditions, such as a major heart attack, to accelerate their life insurance benefits before death to cover financial needs, the company said.

Border Patrol Recruiting for Security Jobs in Tampa Bay

The U.S. Border Patrol is hiring 2,200 people for security jobs in Tampa Bay.

Hundreds of Floridians flocked to open houses all over Tampa to apply for the coveted Border Patrol positions.

Applications are also being accepted online. Applicants have until Sept. 30 to put in an application.

The Bay area open house was at the Corporex business park in East Tampa. OFficials said about one out of 45 people are qualified for the positions.

The positions require guarding the nation’s borders in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Salaries range from $38,619 to $63,259 per year, according to the patrol. This is for the full time positions.

Relocation expenses are not being paid.

Walmart Recruiting for Retail Jobs in Tampa

Walmart has announced they are hiring for retail jobs in Tampa Bay.

Approximately 300 workers are needed for a new store slated to open this fall at 4302 W. Gandy Blvd. in Tampa. In the past, whenever Walmart has announced a new store opening, literally thousands of people have applied for a comparably small number of available jobs.

Supervisors, part-time, and full-time associates are needed for the store. Walmart also provides benefits, including vision, medical, and dental.

The retailer is accepting applications at a temporary hiring center at 4644 W. Gandy Blvd., units #2 and #3.

Compensation ranges, depending on the position, but starts at $7.40 per hour and rises based on position and experience

Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.

“We are excited to add this Walmart to Tampa and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” said store manager Brian Lemelin in a statement.

Employees hired will begin working in September before the store is slated to open.
